Finding Perspectives
Finding Perspectives in life both personally and professionally: counselling, mentoring & more
Finding Perspectives is about just that - through counselling, mentoring, group facilitation and/or training I support individuals, groups and SMEs to find new perspectives on life, on their mission, on the way ahead.
Counselling is very much led by you, the client. I believe you are the expert in you and I trust that as we work together we will be able to tap into your own resources, values, and passions to sustain you through whatever is happening that has brought you to counselling. Whether that is something major, specific, or simply a sense of knowing that you aren't happy with how things are and you want to find another approach - I work with you collaboratively to help you find your way. I have worked across a range of issues from relationship breakdown to stress, anxiety & panic attacks, from working through medical diagnosis and various health challenges, to addressing loss of self-worth/confidence or purpose in life.
Mentoring is rooted in getting to know your values and purpose so that we can work together in identifying what you need to sustain you in your working role. I primarily focus on those working or volunteering in the charity sector. I have experience working with independent advocacy services, alongside care staff, health providers and education professionals. I have also worked within the LGBTQ+ community, and increasingly support neurodivergent individuals, all of which informs my ability to mentor you through whatever challenges you may be facing currently. I have provided supervision/mentoring to staff team members to support them through extensive organisational change.
Group facilitation is both for training purposes and/or for therapeutic support. I have facilitated trans/non-binary individuals in a weekly, online group for a year through the first year of the pandemic, supported teams of volunteer advocates through group mentoring & training, and facilitated team development with both volunteer & staff teams in the voluntary sector, identifying values, purpose and roles.
My training experience includes planning & delivering L3 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CPCAB), delivering workshops on confidence building and effective communication skills, plus most recently running workshops for trainee counsellors and local Samaritans on working with transgender individuals from a person-centred perspective. I have also developed workshops on identifying potential needs for working with those identifying as neurodivergent later in life, and identifying the hidden impacts of life restricting conditions. I am open to developing bespoke training for local organisations or groups.
I love to work with individuals, boards, groups and teams, and am open to developing contracted work with local organisations to support team development through a combination of one or more of the options above.
“What I love about my business is seeing people develop their confidence, self-worth and awareness. My passion is empowering others, enabling them to speak up for themselves effectively, both in their personal and professional lives.”
