Final week to join The Braithwaite Gallery Winter fundraiser in support of PAPYRUS
There are just days left to take part in The Braithwaite Gallery’s Winter fundraiser, supporting PAPYRUS, the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. This special raffle gives art lovers the opportunity to win a stunning original painting while making a meaningful contribution to a cause close to the gallery’s heart.
The lucky winner of the raffle will take home Gary Walton’s stunning original artwork, ‘The Caspian’, valued at £795. Tickets are priced at just £2 each in the gallery, or five for £10 online at www.YorkArtist.com. The winner will be drawn on 31st December 2024, with all proceeds supporting PAPYRUS.
In addition, several other paintings and limited edition prints by celebrated artists Anthony Marn, Paul Heeley, and Lyndsey Selley are available for purchase, with proceeds donated to PAPYRUS.
Located in the heart of York, on Low Petergate, The Braithwaite Gallery is a cherished destination for art enthusiasts. PAPYRUS is a cause deeply personal to gallery owners Anne and Mark Braithwaite, who lost their son Jake to suicide in 2018, aged just 20.
Suicide is the leading cause of death for young people under the age of 35 in the UK. In memory of their son Jake, the gallery has been raising funds to support PAPYRUS’s vital work.
Anne Braithwaite, owner of The Braithwaite Gallery, said; “In 2023-24 we have raised more than £9,000 for the charity, in memory of Jake. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our artists and lovely customers, who we can’t thank enough. Perhaps by raising money to support this charity, we can give another family another day with their loved one.”
The Braithwaite Gallery has a proud tradition of combining creativity with compassion, raising nearly £20,000 for various charitable causes over the past decade. This includes Mind, Dementia UK, Choose2Youth, NHS Charities Together, and the York Flood Appeal.
